WORCESTER, MA – The Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce has announced Darnell Dunn as its new Director of Business Recruitment. As the Director of Business Recruitment, Dunn will be responsible for spearheading initiatives aimed at attracting new businesses to the Worcester region while also fostering the growth and expansion of existing businesses.

“We are excited to welcome Darnell and fill this very important role of Director of Business Recruitment,” said Tim Murray, President and CEO of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce. “Darnell comes to us with years of experience in the real estate and property management realm, and we look forward to leveraging his expertise to recruit new businesses to Worcester.”

Before his position at the Chamber, Darnell was a Senior Associate at Rubric Commercial LLC, a full-service, Worcester-based commercial real estate brokerage.  There he concentrated on Landlord and tenant representation for Office and Industrial property in Central Massachusetts. Before joining Rubric, he spent nearly a decade in Ecuador providing insightful, data-driven recommendations to real estate clients from North America, Europe, and Asia at Abundant Living Ecuador, a real estate brokerage and property management firm he co-founded.  He earned a BA in Economics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Darnell is a resident of Waltham, Massachusetts, and sits on the board on the Worcester Economics Club and serves as an Entrepreneur-In-Residence at Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s Business Development Lab, a cutting-edge, STEM-focused incubator, propelling startups from concept to commercialization.

Also joining the Chamber as a finance assistant is Rhonda White. Rhonda, a certified accountant, worked previously as a buyer/planner for Kadant Solutions Division in Auburn, MA. Before Kadant Solutions, Ms. White worked as an Office Manager and Production Planner at McNamara Fabricating Company in West Boylston.

In addition to the two new staff members, Michael Kane II has transitioned into the role of Economic Development and Public Policy Associate. Kane has been a fellow at the Chamber since 2023. A Holyoke native, he attended Holyoke Community College where he graduated with an associate’s degree in liberal arts. He then continued his education at the College of the Holy Cross, where he graduated in 2023 with a bachelor’s in political science. Currently, Kane is studying at Suffolk University Law School in their evening law program where he is pursuing a Juris Doctor of Law.

Mike comes to the Chamber with an assortment of experiences after working in multiple internships and fellowships in Worcester and Western Massachusetts. He started as an intern on Congressman Richard E. Neal’s 2020 campaign in Holyoke, where he was the city’s campaign director. Mike also interned at the Holyoke Community College President’s Office, while he attended the college and has held internships at the Hampden and Worcester Counties’ District Attorney’s Offices.
